I have been coming here for a little while now and I am always impressed with the food. The waitstaff has always been friendly, and attentive. Today, I literally walked in, was seated with a minute and had my drink order taken within seconds. They returned quickly with the drink and took my order. I think I had my food in less than 10 minutes from the time I arrived.
I love the large drink glasses you get, which ensures you'll really never need to wait for a refill....but if you want one, it'll come quickly.
My server today was Ricky and he was awesome.
Special tip: Come back on Friday/Saturday for the Mariachi band during dinner time. I just wished they played a little longer
Also: The middle bar is a nice touch.
To be quite honest, I wasn't sure if downriver needed another sub-par Mexican restaurant. I have been pleasantly surprised. This is my 9th trip here. Nothing sub-par about it! -

Been here 3 or 4 times now. When they were new it was pretty good, but it's slowly gotten worse.
Went this Sunday with my dad and my brother, My tacos al pastor were less than appetizing and my brother's wet burrito was essentially a big ball of nasty.
My brother got sick immediately after getting home, my dad was sick later on that night and I was sick the next day.
Safe to say none of us will ever be returning. -

We had lunch there today Saturday at 12:30, they had quite a few people dining. Ordered a enchilada dinner & a wet burrito and soft flower taco lunch for the kid. The beans & rice were good but the burrito & enchilada were, well like leftovers heated up in a microwave, and not heated up enough!. No flavor, cold just nasty leftovers. Our waitress was nice but she wasn't the gal that brought out the food. Granddaughter took one bite of taco and said yuk but we didn't realize until we got home they were in corn shells not flower. I ate my enchilada regardless cus I was starving & will eat almost anything, but the burrito didn't get ate by the wife until she got it home and heated it up. $45.00 later and pretty disappointed. I know "why didn't you tell them to heat it up", because I don't want heated up food in a microwave, I want hot cooked meal served up hot & right the first time.
Not real impressed, if they can't get it right the first time there's no point in complaining & sending it back for a second try.
Can't wait for Taco Especial to open back up cus we're not going back there, well I might but not likely. Like I said the beans & rice were tasty & hot. -

This place has really gone downhill. I've been here several times in the past and it was always pretty good. Today when my BFF and I tried to dine here, we were barely acknowledged. We waited forever to get chips and salsa and no one waited on us. We ended up walking out and headed over to Galindo's down the street. This place seems to be ran by a bunch of teenagers now. Camino Real has lost my business.
